It should also be noted that, unlike some martial arts that focus mainly on competition, many Kung Fu schools also teach cultural traditions and fold in elements of personal development.

Choosing the Right Kung Fu School

So, now that you know all the schools, how do you decide which is right for your child? The answer is, there is no real way. Not all martial arts schools teach the same way and not all will feature all if any of the traditional animal styles. The trick when choosing a program is to look for positivity, safe training practices, clean, organized facilities, and experience teachers.

Oftentimes, it helps for you and your child to watch a practice class or attend a Kung Fu clinic to see what the environment is like. If your kid falls in love right away, if they involve themselves and seem engrossed, then you may be on your way to having a Tiger in training!
